Meu Deus!

Se me deres a fortuna,
Não me tires a felicidade;
Se me deres a força,
Não me tires a sensatez;
Se me for dado prosperar,
Não permita que eu perca a modéstia,
Conservando apenas o orgulho da humildade.
Ó Deus!

Faze-me sentir que o perdão é o maior 
Índice da força e que a vingança é a prova de fraqueza.

Se me tirares a fortuna, deixa-me a esperança.
Se me faltar à beleza da saúde, conforta-me com a graça da fé.
Ajuda-me a apreciar o outro lado das coisas, para não enxergar a traição dos adversários;
Nem acusa-los com maior severidade do que a mim mesmo.

Não me deixes ser atingido pela ilusão da glória quando for bem sucedido e nem desesperado quando sentir o insucesso.
Lembra-me que a experiência de um fracasso poderá proporcionar um progresso maior.
E quando me ferir a ingratidão dos meus semelhantes, cria em minha alma a força da desculpa e do perdão.
E finalmente Senhor, se eu Te esquecer te rogo, mesmo assim, nunca Te esqueças de mim.

Arabic Prayer My God! If you give me the fortune, Do not take away my happiness; If you give me the strength, Do not take away my sanity; If I am to prosper, Do not let me lose my modesty, Retaining only the pride of humility. Oh God! Make me feel that forgiveness is the greatest Index of strength and that revenge is the proof of weakness. If you throw away my fortune, give me hope. If I lack the beauty of health, comfort me with the grace of faith. Help me to appreciate the other side of things, not to see the betrayal of the adversaries; Neither do you accuse them more severely than myself. Do not let me be struck by the illusion of glory when you are successful or desperate when you feel your failure. It reminds me that the experience of failure can provide further progress. And when it hurts me the ingratitude of my fellow men, it creates in my soul the force of apology and forgiveness. And finally, Lord, if I forget You, I beg you, nevertheless, never forget Me.
