Garras poderosas

Um rei recebeu como obséquio dois filhotes de aves de caça e os entregou ao mestre da "cetreria" para que os treinasse para a próxima temporada de caça, entretenimento dos nobres da época, enquanto esperavam por alguma guerra.
 
Passados alguns meses, o instrutor comunicou ao rei que uma das aves já estava com toda sua performance de caça pronta para ser testada, mas que a outra ave não tinha se movido do seu galho desde que tinha chegado ao palácio, a tal ponto de que tinham que lhe alcançar a comida, para que não morresse de fome.
 
O rei, um sujeito muito hábil, mandou chamar curandeiros e até senadores para que verificassem qual o problema com a ave, mas de nada adiantou, ela não saía do lugar...
 
Pelas janelas dos seus aposentos o monarca podia ver o pássaro imóvel no galho, e mesmo que sua pose fosse autêntica e seu corpo delineado, faltava-lhe a qualidade principal que era voar.
 
Publicou por fim um anúncio entre seus súditos procurando alguém que ensinasse o pássaro a voar. Na manhã seguinte, viu a ave voando agilmente pelos jardins!
 
– Traga-me o autor desse milagre! Quero recompensá-lo e aprender sua técnica mágica - disse o rei.
 
Quando o sujeito é apresentado, o rei lhe pergunta:
 
– Como conseguiste? Tu és mágico, por acaso?
 
E o homem respondeu:
 
– Não alteza, apenas observei que se cortasse o galho onde a ave se agarrava, ela iria precisar de algo mais, e isso eram suas asas...
