O Sábio e o Turista

Conta-se que no século passado um turista americano foi à cidade do Cairo, no Egito, com o objetivo de visitar um famoso sábio.

Lá chegando, o turista ficou surpreso ao ver que o sábio morava num quartinho muito simples e cheio de livros. As únicas peças de mobília eram uma cama, uma mesa e um banco.

- Onde estão seus móveis? - perguntou o turista.

E o sábio, mais que depressa, perguntou-lhe também:

- E onde estão os seus...?

- Os meus?! - surpreendeu-se o turista - Mas eu estou aqui só de passagem!

- Eu também... - concluiu o sábio.

"A vida na Terra é somente uma passagem. No entanto, alguns vivem como se fossem ficar aqui eternamente e se esquecem de ser felizes".

The wise and the tourist

It is said that in the last century an American tourist went to Cairo, in Egypt, in order to visit a famous wise.

Once there, the tourist was surprised to see that the wise lived a very simple room and full of books. The only pieces of furniture were a bed, a table and a bench.

-Where are your furniture? -asked the tourist.

And the wise, more than fast, asked him as well:

-And where are your ...?

-My? surprised if tourists-But I'm here just passing through!

-I also ...-concluded the scholar.
